Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to reunite with family members, eat delicious foods, and be grateful for all that you have. It is very possible that your Airbnb guests will choose your vacation rental for this special day. During this time of celebration, it is very possible that a glass of wine will be spilled. When this happens, don’t fear, just make the following cleaning solution:

  • One tablespoon of dishwashing soap
  • One tablespoon of white vinegar
  • Two cups of warm water

Once you’ve created the cleaning mixture, pour it onto the affected area, and use a white cloth to blot the mixture. Continue this process until the red wine stain has been removed from the carpet. Now, you can relieve some of the holiday stress that commonly arises in this time of year. We know that it can be scary sometimes.

Halloween

Halloween generates messes from multiple different sources. The main sources include: costume make-up, fake blood, candy, and beverages. The Halloween festivities will be limited this year, but some messes will still arise. Don’t be afraid, there is a large variety of cleaning products that can help you clean tough messes.

If one of your Airbnb guests decides to be a vampire this Halloween, there’s a chance that some fake blood may find it’s way onto your carpet or furniture. Fake blood is made of dyes and coloring that may leave a lasting stain if your Airbnb cleaners do not attend to it quickly. Take these steps once you’ve found the affected area:

  1. 1. Scoop up as much of the fake blood as possible.
  2. 2. Apply baking soda to the carpet.
  3. 3. Agitate, vacuum, and repeat.
  4. 4. Spray a mixture of ammonia (3oz) and water (12oz) onto the stain.
  5. 5. Blot, apply cold water, continue blotting until dry.
  6. 6. Finish by spraying a vinegar and water solution and blotting dry.

Following these steps should lead you to a clean carpet free from any fake blood or makeup stains. Another fear that short term rental hosts have is that of melted chocolate. Similarly to the fake blood, start by scooping up any excess candy or chocolate from your carpet. Spray a spot remover on the affected area and then gently wipe with a soft brush. Finally, use a carpet cleaner vacuum on the affected area and allow it to dry.
